This April, Rainbow Homestead stepped into a new chapter—our first LGBTQ+ community event—and it was more than just a panel. It was a moment of being seen.
Our founder, Raevyn, joined a panel of local LGBTQ+ leaders to discuss visibility, advocacy, and the power of community care. As the only student panelist, Raevyn brought a deeply personal perspective rooted in lived experience and grassroots organizing.
“It felt like we were finally stepping into the wider circle—being recognized not just as individuals, but as a growing initiative with something to offer.”
— Raevyn
What followed was even more powerful:
One-on-one conversations with directors of local organizations
New invitations to collaborate and share space
A sense of belonging in the broader LGBTQ+ ecosystem
This wasn’t just a panel—it was a turning point.
For Rainbow Homestead, this event marked our first public step into LGBTQ+ community spaces. It affirmed that our work is needed, our voices are valued, and our presence matters.
We’re especially grateful for the connections made that day—each one a seed for future collaboration, mutual support, and shared vision.
We’re excited to nurture these new relationships and continue showing up in spaces where community care and queer joy are centered. This is just the beginning.
